The Sales Process Starts With Alerting Your Prospect
By Dave McMahon

Sometimes you need to put prospects on alert so they know you are trying to reach them. A simple tool can help you to do this.
But first why do most people so often solicit the opinions of others?
The simple answer is that one of the hardest things in life for many people is making decisions. The more choices that are available, often the more difficult it becomes to make a decision. So when somebody says they are planning to have the steak, you are more likely to say “Yeah, steak, that sounds good.” The underlying principle is that most people simply do not like making decisions and are frequently happy to go along with the crowd.
Understanding this rather common human reaction is important to your sales process. In this case, you can make use of SMS marketing. The open rate for SMS on average in Australia, industry wide, is 97.3% compared to the open rate of Australian emails, which tends to average only between 12% and 21%. That’s an astounding difference, isn’t it?
So, the next time you are sending an email or sales proposal to your prospects, send them a SMS to alert them. (Side note, many of my clients have done the sales training course called ‘Sales Shortcuts and Social Media Mastery’ Program where we reveal the sales writing principles to create powerful sms marketing messages in more detail. The difference between having 21% of your prospects open your sales prospect and having more than 97% open your sales proposal is huge. Image what that would do to your sales process!
