The BIGGEST mistake I see in sales and marketing is trying to shortcut the Lead Generation (LG) process. Many try to one-step the sale, when it clearly calls for a two-step approach. Look, LG is clunky. You attract leads and then you follow-up. This will call for systems.
This calls for discipline. But in my experience, pure LG is the way to go.

I previously mentioned a BIG mistake I made years ago which was:

I used to run a lot of full-page and half-page ads in many different magazines. I dumped one magazine because I got less leads and it cost twice as much. On the surface, you may think that was wise, but it wasn’t, for many reasons. And here’s why:

By tracking my numbers over a period of years, I found out the mag I dropped gave me better leads than the magazines I kept running ads in.

Sure, with this mag I didn’t get as many leads, but the ones I did get spent more money with me on the short-term and more money in the long-term. Dumping this magazine was a mistake. The lesson here is to track numbers on the short-term and long-term basis. And track where each lead comes from.

EXAMPLE: For long-term customer value, a lead acquired from Direct Mail is better than one acquired online.

Okay, here are the 6 quick-fire steps to dominating your Market; especially if you’re in the Info Marketing business.

  1. Niche your message.
  2. Develop the right bait
    (Create an irresistible offer; many times FREE)
  3. Develop marketing materials and test small.
  4. Buy Speed. Roll out when proven to many different media.
  5. Ascension model. Constantly show your customers the ladder.
  6. Reinvest % of profits back into the front-end (acquiring new customers).

Study this model, it’s pure GOLD.
