FREE Customers

One way to quickly grow your business is to develop a system to encourage and capture referrals from your existing customers.

There are many ways to do this. However, most business owners I see rely on referrals just happening for them. There’s no encouragement, no system in place for customers to refer.

If this is you, be aware you’re leaving a lot of money on the table. Referrals are FREE customers; plain and simple.

Anyway, the key to getting referrals is what Dan Kennedy calls the “EAR Formula.”

The “E” is for Earn.

This means, you have to earn the right for referrals by supplying fantastic products or services and by developing a great relationship with your customers.

Remember, it doesn’t matter what business you’re in, think of yourself as being in the “Relationship Business”; because that is what business really is about.

The “A” is for Ask.

Don’t let them say no for you, just ask; it’s a great motto to live by. Encourage referrals and let your customers know it’s almost expected of them to do so. And make it easy for them to refer by implementing a simple system.

The “R” is for Reward.

Many times, your customers aren’t after money or gifts or prizes for referring; just acknowledgement. So make a big deal out of it when they refer. Even a simple card saying thank you is a great reward for a job well done.
